After six years in the market, time has come to adjust the Simrad Pro autopilot line-up. AP70 Mk2 will replace the workhorses AP70 and AP80 as our IMO/SOLAS autopilot controller. AP70 Mk2 reuses much of the well-reputed platform of its predecessors, with a new brilliant display and modernised software. AP70 Mk2 is a dedicated autopilot controller designed to meet the needs of professional mariners aboard a variety of commercial vessels. AP70 Mk2 will include all the features of AP70 and AP80 and will be compatible with the same range of autopilot computers, remote controllers and interface to 3rd party navigation equipment as its predecessors. Engineered for responsiveness, robustness and ease of use, the AP70Mk2 pairs a precision rotary control dial with dedicated buttons for instant access to steering modes, several custom-configurable Work modes and multiple rudder/thruster integration.

• Thruster Integration & Rudder Feedback Support. The AP70 Mk2 enables simultaneous autopilot control of up to 6 rudders and thrusters by adding optional AD80 or SD80 interface modules. The thrusters can be set to engage automatically below a user-defined speed threshold, and configured separately for normal and Work modes. The AP70 Mk2 also supports specialized heavy-duty rudder feedback units designed for reliable operation aboard commercial vessels.
